I am planning a surprise party for my best friend's 40th birthday. We have a regular weekend hold'em game to I would like to do something with that theme. What do you suggest? His birthday is in August, and the party would be in Manhattan.

Every since Daniel Craig and company upped the cool factor in they latest 007 installment, my husband has been casino crazy. The fellow who didn’t even buy Lotto tickets was now talking about trips to Monaco and asking me where the closest Indian reservation was! I wanted to avoid any chance of our quiet and romantic weekends being replaced by ragers in Atlantic City, so I contacted the party planning gang here at Team Events and wiped up a great party to satisfy the man’s need for gambling. Team Events turned our basement into a GAMING ROOM straight out of Las Vegas! Professional dealers, croupees and decor were added to enhance the excitement, and I even rented my guy a tux to really get him into the swing of things. We had a table each for Black Jack, Roulette, Craps, and Poker, and hubby-dearest was playing Bond and swigging martinis for 4 hours at a pretty inexpensive cost. So while my intention was to create a successful event that would wean my husband off of his baccarat style obsession, I think I actually created a black jack brigand.

I can't say enough about the casino parties that Team Events throws. I get to see it all the time from the inside--but to experience it as a party host is amazing. I definitely recommend a casino-style party (and my husband would too!)

And my own little card shark is now hinting at having a casino night for his company’s anniversary!
